Become better acquainted with local artists through the BIG ARTS Artists Studio Tour this Friday, April 15. Studio Tour tickets include lunch at The Sanctuary Golf Club, and can be purchased for $50.
Artists Studio Tour begins at BIG ARTS at 10 a.m. where tour participants pick up their tour map and information for the day, and view the art exhibits. The artists on this year’s Studio Tour include Pat Dunn, Jane Hudson, Leoma Lovegrove, Babs Snyderman and others.
BIG ARTS galleries will also be open featuring the Southwest Florida Craft Guild Exhibit in Phillips Gallery, and an exhibit featuring artwork by Lennie Jones, Dennis Joyce, Danny Morgan and Byron M. Wood in Founders Gallery.
During the luncheon at The Sanctuary, artists Michele Oppenburg and Christine Moore from Sanibel Faux at John Grey Painting will demonstrate faux and mural painting techniques. Artists Studio Tour attendees can enter a raffle to win art pieces created during the luncheon — a mural on canvas by Moore and decorative faux bamboo on a plank by Oppenburg.
The winners will be selected following the tour at a wine and cheese reception at John Grey Painting, located at 695 Tarpon Bay Road, Suite 5 (inside the Promenade Center, across from Sanibel Post Office). The winner need not be present to win. The reception at John Grey Painting is free and open to the public.
