Giggles hopes for a spectacular Luminary Night

Known for her fantastical window vistas, edgy style and unique merchandise, Giggles owner Marcia Kimball says she’s excited to experience her first official Luminary Night on Captiva — and as Holiday Village fever catches on — Kimball, like many Captiva business owners and residents, is pulling out all the stops to make it a perfect night.

“We’ll have Miss Silvia, the amazing face-painter, and we’ll have guitarist Mario Infanti and John Beltram. They are about to come out with a very different and interesting Christmas CD and we will be the first to hear the songs,” Kimball said of the evening’s entertainment in Chadwick’s Square. “All of us at Chadwick’s are excited to have such great talent joining us for Luminary.”

Kimball is also offering special deals on Luminary night — and throughout the Captiva Holiday Village.

“If you spend $50 dollars at Giggles, you’ll get a complimentary child’s ticket for a Dolphin and Wildlife Cruise at McCarthy’s Marina. And, if you spend $100, you get a free Captiva Holiday Village embroidered stocking for a child, boy or girl, filled with very cool goodies!”

Though Giggles is technically a children’s store, Kimball invites Luminary — and Holiday Village — pilgrims both big and small to wander over to Chadwick’s Square.

“I have a lot of Christmas stuff in and you really feel the Christmas spirit in my store,” Kimball said. “We have a lot of talking toys, cute Christmas outfits and pajamas, great books and more. We also have beautiful Christmas ornaments from Atlanta-based Katherine’s Collections. I love her stuff! There’s really something for everybody — not just kids.”

And, as is tradition, Kimball also poured a lot of effort into her fantastic window display, featuring a realm of Christmas characters amidst twinkling lights and beaded garlands. Kimball said looking into her window is like going into a wonderland, and that’s also what she likens the Holiday Village to, especially with all the decorations and rampant community spirit.

“We’re all really excited about Captiva Holiday Village, and this is actually the first year that I’ve really been involved in Captiva, and we’re really trying to be festive and have fun. All of us in Chadwick’s hope everyone comes out to enjoy it.”
